Submit the following application if you wish to do an Independent Study course in AFAS. Please know that to do an Independent Study you will need a faculty sponsor and approval from the department chair.

Include how many hours you and your faculty sponser plan to meet per week, the format of the independent study (i.e. 10-12 page paper, etc.), and the nature of the outcome.
Agreement
By submitting this form you have agreed to complete an Independent Study in the Department of African & African American Studies based upon the aforementioned terms with the listed faculty sponsor. This form will be routed to the faculty sponsor for confirmation, and then presented to the AFAS Undergraduate Curriculum Committee for approval. At that time you will be notified of the status of your application.
