Winner of the Before Columbus Foundation's American Book Award

William Maxwell's F.B. Eyes: How J. Edgar Hoover’s Ghostreaders Framed African American Literature

The Before Columbus Foundation has just announced the winners of this year’s American Book Awards and among them are Bill Maxwell’s F.B. Eyes: How J. Edgar Hoover’s Ghostreaders Framed African American Literature.  This is the 37th year of the American Book Awards and it is a considerable feat to win such recognition.  Having served as a judge for more than a few literary awards I know how incredibly hard it is to win one.  Bill deserves a real tip of the hat from everyone for his accomplishment.
