Artist Talk: Bethany Collins - Chorus

Join us for a reception, tour, and artist talk about Bethany Collins: Chorus, a new exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum.

Multidisciplinary artist Bethany Collins engages language as both a subject and creative material. Drawing on texts ranging in form and function from classified ads to patriotic songs and bureaucratic reports, Bethany Collins: Chorus explores American history and the nuance of racial and national identities. The exhibition Bethany Collins: Chorus is organized for the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis by Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Chief Curator, with Misa Jeffereis, Assistant Curator.

The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2), The Department of African and African-American Studies, and The Department of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis have co-sponsored a reception honoring Bethany Collins at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (CAM) on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. The reception will include a tour of her installation, Chorus, at CAM.

Following the reception, Bethany Collins and Chief Curator Wassan Al-Khudhairi will engage in a conversation about Chorus. Those interested in attending the Artist Talk should RSVP at the link below.
